AIPL Establishes Elite Cohort of Associate Members

May 13, 2025 – The AI Procurement Lab (AIPL), a women-led 501(c)3 non-profit organization, today announced the launch of its elite class of Associate Members. This inaugural membership cohort consists of global AI experts with deep experience solving a wide spectrum of responsible AI challenges.
The talented and highly credentialed group of professionals have dedicated their careers to AI research, coaching, education, and guided support programs. Their expertise is crucial in helping organizations procure AI more responsibly. “We handpicked these specific individuals to join on inaugural cohort because they know exactly how to navigate the entire AI value chain,” says Cari Miller, AIPL’s Acting Executive Director.
Gisele Waters, Ph.D., AIPL Co-Founder and Education Director replied, “We’re excited to have this particular group of colleges joining us because they bring such a wide range of expertise and experience. Diversity of thought and cross functional experience in this space are essential.” Some notable attributes and characteristics of the collective new members include:

Analyzing the impact of new technology adoption.
Advising organizations and governments on futureproofing business and operations.
Working with investors and VCs to identify innovators and applications of technology.
The group includes experts located across the globe, including in the United States, Canada, the United Kingdom, and the United Arab Emirates.

Abhinav Mittal, an expert in Responsible AI, IT Cost Optimization, IT Strategy and Digital Transformation
Bob Spence, an experienced IT professional working with companies to ease the impact of new technology adoption.
David Barnes, Ph.D., a senior executive leader and globally recognized expert in artificial intelligence, machine learning, and autonomous systems.
Deborah Webster, an expert advisor to organizations and governments on how to futureproof business and operations.
Giovanna Jaramillo-Gutierrez PhD, a senior consultant specializing in trustworthy AI for social impact and AI systems audits.
Jen Kirkwood, A global-markets responsible AI strategist in the world of work and HRTech, Executive Fellow at the World Economic Forum, and CEO of Talvana Consulting.
Katrina Ingram, a senior advisor helping leaders turn AI governance and ethical AI principles into practice through policies, processes, and training.
Laura Morgan, an expert in identifying and mitigating risks associated with ambiguity and bias.
Roya Pakzak, a technology and human rights researcher, advocate, and electrical engineer.
Sarah Clarke, named in Computer Weekly's 'Most Influential Women in UK Tech' list multiple times.
Sheila Leunig, an experienced legal executive specializing in AI governance, emerging technology, and digital media.
The formation of this group of Associate Members significantly enhances AIPL's thought leadership capacity to develop future responsible frameworks, procurement tools, education programming, and research. They will also help the AIPL fulfill its mission to provide advice, council, and support to organizations in need of workforce upskilling, responsible AI readiness planning and implementation, AI safety compliance support, responsible AI pilot programs, and AI research partnerships.
